Introduction and course content
The odontologists are not beginners when learning the process of infiltration techniques in the lower facial third. During their professional life as dental practitioners, the dentists have many experiences that built up their view of facial harmony and the ways to change it. This is the reason why this course is not approached as an accumulative process of new knowledge, but as a development based on combining the self experience with the new knowledge.
The course consists of 6 chapters distributed in:
(3) THEORETICAL CHAPTERS: We will gradually show the new contents, beginning in CHAPTER 1 with the development of the basic tools, necessary to act in an appropriate way with each patient, and based on our diagnosis. Then, in CHAPTER 2, we will assess the filling materials used, the techniques to infiltrate them, and the guidelines to follow before and after each application of fillers. Finally, in CHAPTER 3 we will thoroughly analyse each and every legal aspects to be considered in the performance of infiltration of fillers; from all agents’ points of view: the patients, the health professionals and the clinics.
(3) VIDEOTUTORIALS IN SPANISH: We consider it is very important to exemplify, with images, some of the contents showed in the theoretical chapters. In these videos we explain how to carry out infiltration techniques in the lips (CHAPTER 4), the grooves (CHAPTER 5) and the perioral region (CHAPTER 6); by showing facial mapping, simulations and finally, real patients.
All these contents and videos in the course will let odontologists create the diagnostic, clinical, and legal protocols which are necessary to develop the competences required for this new professional challenge.
